Several modifications are planned for the attractive Volkswagen in terms of prices, including a crossover model.

German Autobild has gathered information about the smallest and most affordable model of the ID family, which should reach buyers in 2025. The mentioned publication writes that Volkswagen is “working hard to make electric mobility more accessible”.

The basis for this project is the ID.2all concept presented in 2023, which will receive several modifications in serial production. It is known that along with the Polo-sized electric small car, there will also be a sporty GTI (2026) and a more robust model with a higher seating position, which could get the name ID.2 X.

When describing this model, Autobild predicts that the crossover will get bumpers similar to the modernized Golf and an illuminated logo, which can only be equipped with an illuminated LED line (safety requirements), it will also not do without the arch overlays typical of SUV models, but the rear pillars will stand out with three horizontal elements that could also include door handles.

The MEB-Entry platform will provide the technical basis for ID.2 X. The ID.2all was equipped with front-wheel drive and an electric motor that developed 226 hp, but such a large power is not expected for the production model. With a fully charged battery, the prototype was able to travel up to 450 km, for the production model it is likely to be in the range of 400 km.

Regarding the price, Volkswagen has mentioned 25,000 euros – for the basic version of the ID.2. So, even for a family SUV model, it should not exceed 30,000 euros.
