The municipality will participate in a project that will promote the development of the system of digital work with youth

The municipal council of Ogre region approved the prepared draft decision on the participation of the municipality in the implementation of the European Union Recovery Fund project “Development of the system of digital work with youth in municipalities”, which would focus on the development of the system of digital work with youth.

In March of this year, the municipality of Ogre region received an invitation to participate in the European Union Recovery Fund project “Development of the system of digital work with youth in municipalities”. Its purpose is to create a modern, flexible, sustainable system of digital work with youth in local governments focused on solutions to the problems of the target group, connecting it with other municipal services, including the development of e-services and the needs of young people, in order to provide young people with ample opportunities to develop and apply their digital skills, especially young people with limited opportunities, incl. young people from socially disadvantaged groups, taking into account their needs.

The target group is young people aged 13 to 25, incl. young people with limited opportunities, municipal institutions, youth organizations and organizations that work with young people, youth workers, municipalities as cooperation partners and planners of the sustainability of the results of the investment event.

In the framework of the project, it is planned to implement a training program for the development of digital competences of those working with youth, to create a plan for the development of the system of digital work with youth in the municipality, as well as to provide financial support for the implementation of the plan. For the implementation of the project, a team of employees of the Ogre County Education Board will be formed, which will implement the project’s activities.

The financial support available to the municipality of Ogre region within the project is up to EUR 91,360.22. The amount does not include value added tax (VAT), therefore VAT costs up to EUR 9,592.82 incurred within the project will be included in the 2025 budget of the municipality of Ogre region.
