“FS Jelgava-2”, the backups of the Premier League team, beat FK “Karosta” 7:0 (3:0; 4:0) away from home on Saturday, achieving their third victory in a row in the “Altero.lv LIIGA” “B” group tournament. Jelgava midfielder Kristers Pantelejevs stood out with two goals in the game.
Those footballers who are regularly seen on the reserve bench of the Premier League team, but do not get to play time, also went to Liepāja with the young people. In the backup team, they had the opportunity to eliminate this deficiency and once again show the coaches their readiness to participate in the highest level football tournament in Latvia.

In the game against FK “Karosta”, the backup team was led by these prospective students of “FS Jelgava” football academy, who scored three goals in the first half. Kristers Pantelejevs scored in the 22nd minute, Artūrs Janovskis in the 40th minute, and Andris Liepnieks in the 43rd minute. 3:0.
In the second half, Liepājnieki tried to change the course of the game with substitutions, but Jelgavnieki forced the hosts to send the ball into their own goal in the 51st minute, in the 57th minute Kristers Panelejev sent the ball into the goal again, and in the 59th minute Markus Ivanovs scored the first goal of the season – 6:0.
Having achieved this result, the coaches of “FS Jelgava-2” gave the opportunity to play to all reserve players and give rest to those who had to go to the Premier League game on Sunday. In the 74th minute, Kristers Zušević, who replaced Krister Pantelejeva, scored his second goal of the season and put an end to this fight – 7:0.

Having won the third victory in a row, “FS Jelgava-2” maintains its first position in the “Altero.lv LIIGA” “B” group tournament with 9 points. In the next game, Jelgava will meet their closest followers in the tournament table – FK “Ķekava/Auda”, which is behind them by 2 points.
Ķekavnieki beat “Dienvidkurzems SS” with a score of 2:1 and FK “Union” with a score of 3:2 at the beginning of the season. They played a draw with another team from Jelgava, JFC “Viola” – 1:1.
