The disease was detected in five wild boars in Dobele district last week, including four wild boars in Naudites parish and one wild boar in Īle parish.

Also, last week, the virus was detected in two wild boars in Jēkabpils county Sala parish and one wild boar in Madona county Lądonas parish.

Thus, in the population of wild boars this year, the ACM found 523 wild boars in 24 counties in 79 parishes in Latvia.

Since June 2014, when ASF was registered for the first time in Latvia, the virus was detected in a total of 8801 wild boars, including in 2014 ASF was detected in 217 wild boars in Latvia, in 2015 – 1048, in 2016 – 1146, in 2017 – 1431, in 2018 in 2019 – 430, in 2020 – 377, in 2021 – 448, in 2022 – 1274 wild boars, and in 2023 – 1002 wild boars.

LETA already announced that ACM in Latvia was registered for the first time in June 2014 for three wild boars a few meters from the border with Belarus. ASF It is a very dangerous disease, and the entire herd must be slaughtered in the house where the disease has been detected.

PVD is a state administrative institution under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture, which carries out state supervision and control of the food circulation and veterinary medicine industry.
