In order to prevent the consequences of the Soviet occupation, the Riga city council decided to rename 8 streets of the capital: Tipografijas, Turgeneva, Lermontova, Gogolia, Pushkina, Maskavas, Latgale and Lomonosova. In urban areas, street plates are changed gradually, but the program “Stopkadri ar Armanda Puchi” found out how all plates must be replaced within three months, that is, until the end of May.

“House owners and managers can get the new street name plates free of charge at the Riga Neighborhood Residents’ Center by applying in advance, but they have to install them themselves. On the other hand, the old address plates can be handed over to the sorted waste collection areas or placed in the household waste container.”

The Riga City Council announced a competition in which possible companies that could produce the new plates and house number plates were investigated and identified. 8 manufacturers received an invitation to participate in the price survey, but only three responded. The company SIA “Reklāmas darbnīca 99 ABC” put forward the best price offer, but according to the information provided by the municipality, the company refused to win the tender and conclude the contract. The second favorable offer was submitted by SIA “Darba Spars”.
