In the near future, spring warmth will remain in Latvia, the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Center predicts.

At the same time, rain and thunderstorms are expected in places.

On Monday, April 29, in the morning the sky will still be clear in the east, but the amount of clouds will gradually increase in the west. Rain is expected only in the evening in the western and central regions, where locally thunderstorms will also be observed.

With a slow wind blowing, fog and haze will thicken in places in the east at night.

During the day, the wind will increase and blow from the southeast, south. During the night hours, the air will cool down to +7…+12 degrees, in the eastern regions to +4…+7 degrees, while during the day the maximum air temperature will be +17…+22 degrees.

On Tuesday, April 30, and Wednesday, May 1, the sun’s rays will mix with clouds, which will bring short-term rain in places, but on Tuesday, there may also be thunderstorms. Winds will be light and fog will develop in some areas overnight Wednesday. During the dark hours of the day, the air temperature will stay within +8…+13 degrees, but during the day the thermometer will rise to +17…+22 degrees, on Wednesday even up to +24 degrees. Coastal areas will be cooler both at night and during the day.

The influence of the anticyclone will remain in the second half of the week as well.

In the first days of May, the weather will be mostly dry with only some rain expected in places, while the wind will be slow. The air temperature will remain the same as at the beginning of the week, only it will drop during the holidays and the thermometer will no longer exceed the +20 degree mark during the days.
