The Rural Support Service (RAS) has announced applications for support for starting a business for young farmers, according to the announcement in the official publication “Latvijas Vēstnesis”.

The total available funding is eight million euros.

Support is available from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) in accordance with the Strategic Plan of the Common Agricultural Policy for 2023-2027.

The available funding is planned to be distributed among the structural units of the Russian Federation. EUR 1.2 million will be available in the Zemgale Regional Agricultural Administration, EUR 1.16 million in the Southern Kurzeme Regional Agricultural Administration, EUR 1.12 million in the Northern Vidzeme Regional Agricultural Administration, EUR 1.04 million in the Southern Latgale Regional Agricultural Administration, and EUR 1.04 million in the Northern Kurzeme Regional Agricultural Administration EUR 800,000, Central Latvia Regional Agricultural Administration – EUR 760,000, Northeast Regional Agricultural Administration – EUR 680,000, Greater Riga Regional Agricultural Administration – EUR 640,000, and Eastern Latgale Regional Agricultural Administration – EUR 600,000.

Second-round project submissions will be accepted from August 5 to September 5 in the electronic application system of the LAD.

LAD is a state institution under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture, which administers state and European Union support for rural areas, agriculture, forestry and fisheries.
