The prison administration informs that today, April 26, 2024 In Olaine prison (Latvian Prison Hospital), in cooperation with the State Police and the State Police College, practical training in managing crisis situations is organized. During the practical training, it is planned to evacuate the “prisoners” from the Olaine prison to another prison.

During the training, the personnel of the State Police, the State Police College and the 52nd Combat Support Battalion of the National Guard will carry out “prisoner” convoying and crisis management measures, as well as a search for persons, in the territory of Jelgava region.

At the end of the training, in cooperation with the Riga Municipal Police and the Military Police, the strengthening of mutual cooperation and practical skills in the implementation of crowd control techniques is planned in the territory of the former Brasa prison.

During the practical training, prison inmates will not be involved, this role will be played by the personnel of the State Police, the State Police College and the 52nd Combat Support Battalion of the National Guard.

We invite residents to remain calm and behave with understanding towards what is happening in practical training, hearing alarm sirens, increased noise levels and seeing the activities of the aforementioned serviceslearningvenues.
