SIA “Daugavpils satiksme” approved tram route no. 5 “Cietoksnis – Chemistry – Tropu Ezers – Cietoksnis” and tram route no. 3 “Fortress – Hive Lake – Chemistry – Fortress” existing movement lists and movement schemes.
Due to the completion of the project “Construction of a new tram line on the section of Vaiųdes Street and reconstruction of the existing tram line, connecting the city neighborhoods “Kīmija” and “Vecstropi” in Daugavpils” and putting this section of the tram track into operation, from 25.01.2024. new tram route no. 5 “Fortress – Chemistry – Hive Lake – Fortress”, but passenger transportation on tram route no. 3 was experimentally provided by a new movement scheme “Fortress – Hive Lake – Chemistry – Fortress” and a new movement list.

As a result of the implementation of the project, the network of Daugavpils public transport routes was significantly expanded, that is, the movement of trams is provided along two large circles, which include and connect different neighborhoods of the city: Cietoksni and Ķimija; Chemistry with Hives and Village of the Blind. By making observations during the experiment, it was concluded that changes in movement are not necessary and the proposed movement list and schemes will remain valid.
In connection with the increase in the interval of trams, which is now up to 56 minutes, we draw the attention of passengers to the fact that from the city center to the Communal and Brethren’s graves, as well as to the Village of the Blind, you can get to the village of the blind by tram routes 3 and 5, in addition to tram traffic bus traffic is also provided and you can get to the mentioned points with bus No. 12 “Autoosta – Križi” and in the morning hours – with buses No. 2 “Jaunā Forštadte – Regional Hospital – Bus Station” and No. 2A “Jaunā Forštadte – Regional Hospital” – Vecstropi – Bus station”.
