She repeatedly stated that Kadžul’s statements are absurd and that she cannot comment on them.

“Now calling a person only because this person is causing a stir and thus can get into the media headlines is regrettable,” said Lībiņa-Egnere, reminding that criminal proceedings have been initiated against “SOAAR”. “I don’t want to comment on anything in order not to use it later, that politicians make any claims.”

“How can it be that the company is neither able to show invoices nor anything else, there are only public statements? Why right now? A lot of questions, but there are no answers,” said the minister, emphasizing that the party is legal and wants to talk about what has been done works, but “obviously there is a desire to put something else in the foreground”.

The minister emphasized that parties do not monitor election results in Latvia, courts examine complaints. “This is not about political parties meddling in elections. Such statements are absurd, and we must be sure that such absurd statements do not come out, because it essentially undermines our statehood,” emphasized Lībiņa-Egner.

Lībiņa-Egnere did not rule out that the recent news that has appeared in the public space about “Jauno Vienotības” is related to the pre-elections: “This genre, whatever it is called, with very, very absurd statements, is associated with the pre-election period.”

In the so-called “envelope salary” case, as the minister pointed out, the party is cooperating with law enforcement authorities, an internal party investigation has been conducted, and the public statements have not been confirmed. “‘Unity’ is a party that stands for the rule of law, and in my understanding it [kas tagad notiek] is an attack,” she admitted.
