Minister of Justice Inese Lībiņa-Egnere (JV) emphasizes that in order to promote economic development and the well-being of citizens in the country, it is currently important to reduce bureaucratic obstacles in the construction sector. The registration of a private house will be applied in the construction information system as before, and then data will be exchanged between the systems. Applying for the service will not change for people, but the result will be faster and cheaper than before.

The amendments to the regulations provide for three significant changes.

For the registration of a private house, the State Land Service (VZD) will obtain information from the construction information system (BIS), in the process of registering a private house, it will not be necessary to survey the building in the area, and VZD employees will transfer data from BIS to the cadastre.

By relieving the owners of private houses from the cadastral survey of buildings with a survey in the area, service costs for customers will be significantly reduced. The cost reduction depends on the area of the house, for example, for a 200 square meter house, the cost of the service can be reduced by 490 euros.

The term of the service will also be significantly reduced – five working days will be saved in the process of cadastral surveying of private houses. TM will continue to work on process improvements to achieve an even shorter execution time for cadastral surveying of buildings.

The amendments are the first step in the implementation of the action plan on reducing the administrative burden in the real estate development sector. Using the already available data from BIS, the work of VZD specialists will also be made more efficient, time and labor costs will be saved.
