152 parcel post offices of the Lithuanian state postal company “Lietuvos paštas” operating under the “Unisend” brand have started operating in Latvia, representatives of “Unisend” informed.

The company informs that the “Unisend” network in the Baltics consists of approximately 750 parcel post offices, of which 300 are located in Latvia and Estonia. More than four million euros have been invested in this development process.

The chairman of the board of Lietuvos Paštas, Rolands Zuks, states that the company decided to start operating in the parcel segment more than ten years ago, and after the successful introduction of parcels on the Lithuanian market, the company is ready to offer services to customers throughout the Baltic region.

The company’s representatives, referring to the analysis of the data collection platform “Statista”, indicate that in 2023-2027, the volume of online trade in the Baltic States will increase by 11% per year.

“Unisend” is a new network of delivery services offered by “Lietuvos paštas” and which starts operating in Latvia and Estonia this spring.

The representatives of the company informed the agency LETA that in Latvia 74 parcel offices are located in Riga, seven are located in Liepāja, seven in Jelgava, six in Jūrmala, five in Daugavpils, as well as five in Ventspils. Four parcel offices are located in Rēzekne, Ogre, and Valmiera.

There are also more than 20 Latvian cities, including Tukum, Mārupe, Kuldīga, Sigulda and other cities.

If the demand for parcel lockers increases or new potential parcel locker locations are identified, the company will consider the possibility of deploying additional parcel lockers.

It has already been reported that “Lietuvos Paštas” parcels in Lithuania have the “LP express” brand.

Initially, “Lietuvos paštas” will deploy 300 parcel post offices with the new brand “Unisend” in Latvia and Estonia. In the spring of 2024, “Unisend” will replace the “LP express” brand in Lithuania as well.

The unaudited financial results show that the net profit of “Lietuvos paštas” increased by 7.4% compared to 2022 to 5.2 million euros last year, while the profit before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization deductions (EBITDA) increased by 10.8 % to 14.4 million euros. At the same time, the company’s revenues decreased by 2.6% – up to 110.5 million euros.
