CAA representatives indicate that the institution has received the “airBaltic” flight safety report, which states that the mask compartment opened when the plane was at an altitude of almost two kilometers.

“The incident is currently being evaluated,” the CAA statement noted.

The Finnish media “Ilta-Sanomat” reports that on Friday, March 29, on the “airBaltic” plane, which was on its way from Helsinki Airport to Riga, oxygen masks fell in the cabin above the seats shortly after takeoff.

It has already been reported that “airBaltic” carried a total of 4.5 million passengers last year, which is 36% more than in 2022, and made more than 44,000 flights, which is 18% more than the year before.

The audited turnover of “airBaltic” last year was 664.289 million euros, which is 33.2% more than in 2022, and the company also made a profit of 33.852 million euros, in contrast to losses a year earlier.

The Latvian state owns 97.97% of “airBaltic” shares, while “Aircraft Leasing 1” owned by financial investor, Danish businessman Lars Tūsen – 2.03%.
