502,283 euros will be allocated to “Riga” airport, 150,135 euros to “Liepāja” airport and 20,000 euros to “Ventspils” airport for the implementation of security measures.

Airport Riga” In 2024, plans to purchase four explosive detection devices (EDD) for the total amount of 133,100 euros (without VAT).

On the other hand, in order to improve the efficiency of monitoring and patrolling the territory of the “Riga” airport, it is planned to purchase an unmanned aircraft system and pilot training for the total amount of 35,000 euros (without VAT).

Also, the “Riga” airport needs the purchase of a fire truck. In 2023, Riga Airport announced two procurements for 1,089,900 euros (excluding VAT) and 559,410.50 euros (excluding VAT).

For partial financing of the project, 334,183 euros (without VAT) have been allocated from the 2024 state budget.

For the airport “Liepāja” it is necessary to implement measures for the modernization of technical equipment to ensure aviation safety.

The implementation of the measures has been started in 2023, with the purchase of an explosive detection device, an X-ray device for passenger luggage and a metal detector arch.

In 2024, funding in the amount of 74,134 euros (without VAT) will be allocated from the state budget to make the remaining payments.

Also, in order to increase the ability to respond to emergency situations, the team of firefighters and rescuers will be provided with appropriate personal protective equipment in the amount of 28,000 euros (excluding VAT).

In order to increase the response time of firefighters during an emergency situation, it is planned to purchase a suitable vehicle for the total amount of 48,000 euros (without VAT).

On the other hand Ventspils airport funding for the purchase and installation of a video surveillance system in the amount of 20,000 euros (without VAT) was granted.
