At the end of March, an ambitious event took place in Daugavpils – the educational exhibition “Educational Opportunities 2024” – which was organized by the Daugavpils City Education Board in cooperation with the Daugavpils Science High School.
A total of 29 educational institutions participated in the event, including higher education institutions, colleges and professional education institutions, offering students to learn about educational and career opportunities in various fields and sectors. The exhibition was visited by more than 1170 primary and secondary school students and parents from educational institutions of Daugavpils and Augšdaugava region.
Students and their parents could get information about education and work opportunities in the field of entrepreneurship and economy, national defense and sports, medicine and pharmacy, maritime and engineering, pedagogy, culture and art, tourism, hospitality and catering services, as well as agriculture, forestry, in construction and metalworking.
During the exhibition, students were offered not only to obtain information about educational opportunities and implemented programs, but also to perform various practical tasks to get to know and understand the field or specific specialty, profession.
In addition, lessons and master classes were organized, which were offered by representatives of universities, inviting them to talk about studies and work opportunities. Students had the opportunity to win surprise prizes by participating in various competitions.
During the exhibition, AS “Swedbank” provided information and explained to students and parents about the possibilities of student loans, as well as other matters related to finances.
On the other hand, the team of students and teachers of Daugavpils Science High School of the Erasmus+ project “Bioethics and sustainable environmental management in schools (BIO IVP)” (project No. 2022-1-SI01-KA220- SCH-000086423) shared their experience about the tasks, goals and successes of the project. The visitors of the exhibition got to know and learn about bioethics and sustainable environmental management, about its importance in our everyday life.
The exhibition went smoothly, students and parents were happy and appreciated the opportunity to meet in person with representatives of educational institutions, to find out the questions that interest them, to learn about the wide range of programs of each educational institution, to learn about study and household opportunities, leisure opportunities.
