Will ABBA take the stage again at the Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday?

--

In 1974, exactly 50 years ago, Swedish pop group ABBA won the 19th Eurovision Song Contest in Brighton, England. For the four members of the group – Angneta Feltskoog, Björn Ulveus, Benny Andesson and Anni Frida Lingstad – it was the start of a successful international career, and they are still today one of the most successful musicians of their time. However, they broke up in the 1980s, and although they released an album again in 2021, they have not performed together since. That could change at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.

A video appeared on ABBA’s TikTok account, in which Angneta Feltskoog, Björn Ulveus, Benny Andesson and Anni Frida Lingstad are seen in their youth, looking between the leaves of plants. The clip is accompanied by the following soundtrack: “Okay guys, we’re back. Did you miss us? Because we miss you.” In addition, the group writes “Look who’s back” and adds the hashtags “ABBA”, “Eurovision” and “1974”.

“It would be a historic moment.”

The comments section of the post has seen a lot of comments, with some fans suggesting that the video is a potential announcement for a performance at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. “What does it mean? Why did they use the word ‘Eurovision’ as a hashtag?” asked a user. “I really hope they perform. I don’t even care about the performance, just evoke feelings and emotions again. It would be a dream come true,” wrote another fan.

We remind you that in the finals, after a seven-year break, you will also be able to watch the performance of Latvia.
