Certificates – the awards presented at the ceremony visually resemble a record, which symbolizes the transition from physical music carriers to the era of streaming. They visually represent the idea of the limitlessness of music and its comprehensive accessibility in the digital era, where physical boundaries no longer exist and music is available just a few clicks away. The design of the awards was developed by the artist Haralds Gerts.

“Before the beginning of the digital “era”, the assessment of the popularity of musicians was the number of songs played on radio stations and the number of discs sold, for which the corresponding certificates or awards – gold and platinum discs – were traditionally awarded. At the moment, the situation in the industry is radically different, which is also reflected in the change in the listeners’ daily habits – the number of times songs or albums have been streamed on various streaming platforms has become the main objective indicator,” says Liena Edwards, executive director of LaIPA, noting that the newly introduced streaming certificates and their awarding procedure are internationally accepted process. “I think that collecting statistics and awarding artists who have reached a certain level with gold and platinum certificates is not only an assessment for a specific artist or song, but also an encouragement for the entire industry – authors, performers, producers: following trends in music marketing and the music market in general, ” to bring” their creative performance to a very wide audience,” believes Liena Edwards, executive director of LaIPA.
