Viena no nozīmīgākajām foto žurnālistikas balvām tika pasniegta aprīlī Amsterdamas Jaunajā baznīcā. “Delfi” jau vēstīja, ka galveno balvu saņēmis ziņu aģentūras “Reuters” fotogrāfa Mohameda Salema uzņemtais kadrs Gazas joslā pagājušā gada oktobrī. Par uzvarētājiem dažādās kategorijās tika nosaukti arī Dienvidāfrikas, Venecuēlas un Ukrainas fotogrāfu darbi.

Uzvarējušajā darbā redzama palestīniešu sieviete – 36 gadus vecā Inas Abu Maamar, kuras rokās ir viņas piecus gadus vecās radinieces palagā ietītais līķis. Kadrs uzņemts 2023. gada 17. oktobrī Nasseras slimnīcā Gazas dienvidos. Tur palestīniešu ģimenes meklēja savu tuvinieku mirstīgās atliekas pēc Izraēlas uzlidojuma Gazai.
