The short version – as time goes by, our habits change. If in the 80s-90s of the last century, small class cars gained huge popularity in Europe (just like radios in the past), then today we have almost forgotten about them!
It is quite possible that urban crossovers are to blame for this, which (although similar in dimensions and created on an identical platform) were able to offer their buyers additional convenience and actually killed the idols of previous years with their visual image.
