The GLSDB was supposed to allow the Ukrainian army to attack targets at a distance of 150 kilometers, their actual use on the battlefield has proven to be of little effectiveness.

Bombs are inaccurate under sat nav signal suppression conditions. This does not mean that the ammunition does not hit anything at all, but the deviation from the target becomes larger and is no longer measured in 1-3 meters, but in 30-50 meters.

According to experts, countries hope that tactics and doctrine will make up for this shortfall. Specifically, the doctrine requires the US military to achieve decisively complete air superiority. After that, the task of aviation becomes methodical bombing of the enemy, which is already a tactic, when the main target is the REB complexes of radio electronic suppression.

On January 30, Politico reported that Ukraine could receive the first batch of GLSDB small-diameter ground-based high-precision ballistic missiles from the United States as early as January 31. There are no such weapons even in the US military. Ukraine will be the first country to use these bombs in combat.

Later, Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder confirmed that Ukraine may receive new GLSDB long-range ballistic missiles from the United States. However, he did not specify the terms of delivery of such projectiles.

The range of the target is 150 kilometers, mass – 130 kg, length – 1800 mm, and the mass of the warhead – 93 kg. Such bombs can be launched by M270 and HIMARS.
