The Stars have been in need of production from their top-six forwards all playoffs. On Thursday night, they’ll return one of them to the lineup, who accounted for more than 20 goals this season.

Stars coach Pete DeBoer announced at morning skate that forward Mason Marchment would be back in the lineup for Game 2 vs. the Avalanche after missing six games with an undisclosed injury.

Marchment left the ice in the third period of Game 2 against Vegas with the injury. He has skated with the team regularly over the last week but has not participated in a game since.

“Twenty-plus goals, he’s a big body, he’s got a good skill level,” DeBoer said of Marchment. “He’s played well with [Matt] Duchenne and [Tyler] Seguin all year, so we’ve missed him in the lineup in a bunch of different areas.”

Marchment ended the regular season with a career-high 53 points (22 goals, 31 assists). He has one goal in the playoffs in Game 1 against Vegas.

DeBoer said Radek Faksa, the hero from Game 7 against the Golden Knights, will be scratched amid Marchment’s return.

It is expected that Evgenii Dadonov will return to the fourth line and Marchment will join Seguin and Duchene on the second line.
