On Wednesday, April 3, at 6:30 p.m., the semi-final series of the Latvian Women’s Basketball League will begin with the match SBK “Liepāja”/LSSS – RSU, in which the teams will fight until two wins. Game broadcasts on the LBS YouTube channel.
“TTT-Rīga” (1st) – “Daugavpils University” (4th)
The first match is on April 4 at 19:00 at the Salaspils Sports House, the return match on April 11 at 18:30 at the Daugavpils Culture and Sports Center.
The women of Riga have completed the 24-game long distance in the BioSil WBBL main tournament and the final tournament without losses, having just won the combined league champions’ cup for the fifth time. It’s time to fight for another Latvian title.
In the main tournament “TTT-Rīga” Daugavpils won both games – 105:46 and 82:60.
In the quarter, “Daugavpils University” lost to BJBS “Rīga Juniores”/LU in the first match (74:78), but took revenge at home with 74:58 and reached the semi-finals of the national championship for the second time in history.
SBK “Liepāja” (2nd) – RSU (3rd)
The first game is on April 3 at 18:30 at the Liepāja Olympic Center, the second is on April 7 at 19:00 at the Rimi Olympic Center, and if necessary, the third is on April 13 in Liepāja.
After a two-year hiatus, the Liepāja team returned to the second place in the hierarchy of Latvian clubs, ahead of the RSU unit in the final table of the BioSil WBBL main tournament (6th and 8th place respectively), as well as gaining the upper hand in the sum of the games between them (46:49 and 68:61). However, the course of the matches and the final results promise interesting events in the semi-final series as well.
