Representatives of the Korean automaker KIA have confirmed that the 7-seater KIA EV9 GT version will debut in January, promising “tremendous power”. The new model has turned out to be quite popular and follows in the footsteps of the EV6, as well as Hyundai’s electric models – both the EV6 and IONIQ5 already have sports versions, but the IONIQ6 is under construction.
Until now, the EV6 GT has been KIA’s most powerful street car of all time, but it’s clear that the EV9 GT will surpass that bar. The company’s representatives have not yet revealed what exactly the planned numbers are. The very fact that such a car is under development was reported by KIA right from the premiere of the car.
The manufacturer will not only be interested in very large, very powerful crossovers – KIA has confirmed that it will focus on offering customers an electric car at a more affordable price, indicating that six new models are expected, which will be offered in major markets. For example, we know that the KIA EV3 will be presented by the end of this year – it will take the best of the EV9, but in a more compact size.
KIA aims for these new models to make up the lion’s share of their sales figures. At the same time, the car manufacturer will try to develop its hybrid offer, and it has been reported that KIA has stopped the development of two large electric cars in order to fully focus on these models, which are available to the wider masses.
