Due to currently unknown circumstances, a car caught fire in Riga during the night, “Degpunktā” reports.
The wreckage of a completely burnt-out vehicle is still located on Mēness Street, in front of a five-story building. In the stairwell, the program “Degpunktā” met a resident of the second floor. He was the first to call the fire department when he saw the flames. The man does not really know what causes the vehicle to catch fire.
“At half past two I saw. After that, I went out when I saw that it had started. In total, the car burned completely within fifteen minutes. When the firemen came… The firemen came seven minutes later. There was nothing left to delete. The flames were at the height of the second floor,” says an eyewitness.
During the conversation, the neighbor says that the owner of the burnt vehicle is not a stranger to him. He regularly comes to Mēness Street from Mežapark to visit his father, who lives on the fourth floor.
During his visits, the man always parked his car on the side of the street, in the usual place. And there was no sign of such an outcome, as the car had been there for a week. However, the resident from the opposite house presents her views about the possible cause of the vehicle’s fire much more categorically.
“I got up at night, everything exploded. The boys said – it’s arson,” says eyewitness Lilija.
