The specialist pointed out that the return of compatriots to Latvia is very important, but in her opinion, at least in the Riga region, the salary level is not the determining factor why people choose not to return to live in Latvia.

“Speaking about the salary level, let’s say, salaries in the Riga planning region really start from 1,500 to 5,000 euros gross. Riga municipality also works with this, attracting highly qualified specialists – Riga municipality has a one-time return allowance for highly qualified specialists.
