The amount of alcohol produced in Latvia increased 3.1 times in two months compared to the two months of 2023, according to the excise goods circulation indicators compiled by the State Revenue Service (SRS).

In general, alcohol was produced in two months in Latvia in the amount of 1.945 million liters of absolute alcohol, which is 1.312 million liters more than in the two months of 2023.
Among them, the amount of ethyl alcohol produced in two months was 1.945 million liters of absolute alcohol, which is 3.1 times more than in two months of 2023. On the other hand, dehydrated alcohol has not been produced in Latvia for two months.
The amount of ethyl alcohol imported into Latvia in two months was 526,520 liters of absolute alcohol, which is 4.8 times less than in the two months of 2023.
In two months, the amount of ethyl alcohol sold in Latvia increased 6.8 times, or by 1.592 million liters of absolute alcohol – 1.866 million liters of absolute alcohol were sold in two months this year, and 273,460 liters of absolute alcohol in two months of 2023.
The amount of ethyl alcohol used in the production of alcoholic beverages in two months was 1.778 million liters of absolute alcohol, which is 19.3% less than the amount used in two months of 2023 – 2.204 million liters of absolute alcohol.
On the other hand, ethyl alcohol in the amount of 242,000 liters of absolute alcohol was exported and exported to other European Union member states in two months, or 43.3% less than in two months of 2023.
The LETA agency has already reported that in 2023 the amount of alcohol produced in Latvia increased 2.3 times compared to 2022. In general, alcohol was produced in Latvia in 2023 in the absolute volume of 9.793 million liters of alcohol, which is 5.437 million liters more than in 2022.
