On April 22 at 6:00 p.m. in Daugavpils, you will be able to watch the movie “Mary’s silence” in the Vienības nama cafe (Rīgas iela 22a).

“Maria’s Silence” is a historical drama based on the life story of the famous theater and film actress Marija Leiko and tells about the last years of her life, when the actress goes to the Soviet Union to take care of her granddaughter and becomes a witness and victim of the extermination of Latvians initiated by Stalin .

The internationally acclaimed feature film “Marias Klusums” had its world premiere this year. February 18 – at the 74th Berlin Film Festival, also receiving the Ecumenical Jury Award. The film was screened in the “Forum program” section of the festival, for which a total of 30 films from all over the world were selected. This is an important assessment, because the film was selected from several thousand films, which confirms its content and visual quality.

The creative team of the film – director Dāvis Sīmanis, cinematographer Andrejs Rudzāts, screenwriters Dāvis Sīmanis, Magali Negroni, Tabita Rudzāte, film artist Kristīne Jurjāne, leading actors Olga Šepicka, Artūrs Skrastiņš, Įrts Ķesteris, Inese Kučinska and Vilis Daudziņš, producers Gints Grūbe and Inese Bock-Grube. The film was made in the Latvian film studio “Mistrus Media” in co-production with the Lithuanian film company “Broom Films”.

Tickets at the box office of the Unity House concert hall on weekdays at 16.30–18.30 and one hour before the movie screening. Ticket price 3.00 eur
