All European food packages are quickly removed in Gulbene – Gulbene district – Dzirkstele.lv

In March, there was a shortage of European food packages in Gulbene, which the society “Latvijas Sarkanais Krusts” distributes to needy residents, who have been recognized as such by the social service of the county. “Dzirkstele” was told about this by a person from Gulbeni who asked the newspaper why it happened.

Jeļena Jermacāne, administrator of the Gulbene office of the Vidzeme committee of the “Latvijas Sarkanais Krusts” association, told “Dzirkstele” that the 480 food packages ordered may have been too few. But this time, not only customers in Gulbene, but also in Alūksne and Limbaži felt their lack. Gulbene has ordered 80 additional food packages, which are expected this week, but it is not known exactly when they will arrive or how many there will be. On the other hand, hygiene packages are available and can be received at Gulbene’s office.

When asked how customers find out when to come for food parcels, J. Jermacāne said – they call themselves and inquire. This year, the Latvian Red Cross has a total of 720 clients in Gulbene district who can apply for European food parcels.
