Lelde Dreimane after being exposed: I can finally breathe freely and speak an open language

This morning it is Lelde Dreimane who was hiding behind the Princess mask. She was not alone in the conversation, but together with her pet.

“I have a very, very good feeling. I can finally breathe freely and I can finally speak an open language,” says Lelde about her feelings after being exposed.

“I had a really hard time pretending I didn’t hear about The Masked Voice and Princess for a while. Finally, finally there is such peace. All in all, this was a tremendous turnout and a wonderful stage. I really liked the mystery of it.”

Lelde reveals a little behind the scenes of the show and her feelings: “A black car drives up. I am being taken to the Riga film studio like such a treasure. Then every week I had the opportunity to perform everything, all the most popular songs of world stars.”

“I had the opportunity to sing songs by Adele, Dua Lipa, Beyonce, Miley Cyrus. It was such an unreal challenge. I’m glad I managed to fool the detectives for so long. Although Samantha has been hot on my heels, I think, since the first show. It felt like she was completely feeling me.”

And how was the singing itself, did Lelde try to transform her voice so that we could not recognize whether what we heard was the real Lelde.

Lelde says with a smile, of course, that the voice we heard was changed by special computer techniques, which she herself does not know at all.

“When I sang, the only song where I tried to change my voice was a Miley Cyrus song, because Miley has a low voice. I’m not that short and then I had to make an effort to perform this song.”

What was it like to live in the Princess’s mask – to move, to see.

“Its huge head was the biggest problem because it was very heavy. I’m used to the center of gravity being somewhere else, but with this mask, the center of gravity shifted.”

“In the first show, I had to figure out how to move with this mask. Of course, visibility was also impaired. Luckily we had people who were always there to take us wherever we needed to go. When you get on stage, it’s hard to know where the edge of the stage is. It was difficult to navigate the room. There were a couple of shows while I got my bearings. After that I was already used to it. When I took off the mask, I thought, oh my God, everything is so basic,” Lelde laughs warmly.

In the final, Lelde keeps her fingers crossed for all three masks – Heart, Slime and Fox: “May friendship win!”
