Understanding this helps the President to keep pace with the people and advocate for a policy centered on human dignity and needs.

Who is your presidential ideal among former and current presidents around the world?

In Latvia, I greatly respect the first president of Latvia, Jānis Čaksti – a lawyer, diplomat and true democrat, as well as Vaira Vīkis Freiberga, who was able to inspire us and strongly advocated Latvia’s membership in Western Europe and NATO.

In international politics in recent years, I look to Slovakian President Zuzana Čaputova and former Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid as examples of leaders. They are characterized by a firm attitude and humanity, European modernity and at the same time a sense of roots in their country and its traditions. I admire the ability of Volodymyr Zelensky and his wife Olena Zelensky to maintain the spirit of the people and protect their land in the danger of war.

If you could choose a superpower, what would you choose?

We all have a superpower and I want to inspire people to believe in themselves and dare to dream of excellence.

My superpower is being a mother of three children and at the same time an active professional, taking responsibility and caring for both children and, in my opinion, important values for us and future generations.
