In his first race, Lebedev lost to the Poles last season’s champion Bartosz Zmarzlik and Shimon Wozniak, but finished ahead of Dane Leon Madsen.

In the next race, Lebedev avoided a collision after his rivals fell, but after restarting he fell himself and did not get another chance to restart the race. In his next races, the native of Daugavpils was fourth and third, but in the last race he won.

The five points accumulated in the races gave him the 13th position, but the best eight qualified for the semi-finals.

In the final, Australians Jack Holder and Jason Doyle won the first two places, Sweden’s Fredrik Lindgren was third, and Zmarzlik finished fourth.

Lebedevs starts in the master’s race with a special invitation. He is the first driver of the Latvian speedway, who is included in the basic composition of 15 drivers and will be able to participate in all stages.

This year’s calendar includes 11 “Grand Prix” stages. Riga will host the ninth stage of the season, which will take place on the Biķernieki track on September 7.

As the first reserve of the “Grand Prix” 2023 season, Lebedev started in the last five “Grand Prix” stages of the season, taking 16th place in the overall standings with 30 points.
