As in the first stage held on Saturday, Cipulis started with pushers Dāvi Springi, Matīsa Mikni and Krista Lindenblatt, while Kalenda started with pusher Edgar Ungurus, Dāvi Kaufman and Mairi Kļava.
For the second day in a row, German driver Johannes Lohner was unbeaten in two races with pushers Georg Fleischauer, Erek Bruckert and Florian Bauer fastest in both races. The Italian Patrick Baumgartner was second with a deficit of 0.31 seconds, who beat the German Francesco Friedrich by a hundredth of a second and won his first World Cup medal.
The Cipulis foursome lost 0.62 seconds to the winner and were three tenths of a second behind the first three. Kalenda lost 1.08 seconds to Lochner.
In the first race, Kalenda started first on fresh ice and showed the fifth result, 0.41 seconds slower than Lohner, but Cipulis was another seven hundredths of a second behind and shared the sixth position with the Chinese Suņu Kaiji, who won the bronze on Saturday. At the start, the Latvians had the fifth and second results, respectively.
In the second race, Cipulis with the pushers had the best start run and the second best result in the race, losing to Lohner by 0.14 seconds. Kalends and his partners had the eighth result at the start and the 11th, or the slowest of all at the finish.
On Saturday, Cipulis took the fourth position, while Kalenda was in the 11th place.
In the overall standings of the World Cup, after two foursome competitions, Lohner is the leader with 450 points, Friedrichs scored 410 points, Baumgartney has 386 points, and Cipulis is fourth with 384 points. 288 points gives Kalend the tenth position.
Eight stages of the World Cup will be held this season, in the sixth of them, from January 29 to February 4, athletes will compete on the Sigulda track.
The second stage of the World Cup will take place at the Laplan track in France at the beginning of December, and then the athletes will go to Innsbruck in Austria, where there will also be a fight for the medals of the European Championship in foursomes. After the new year, the season will resume in mid-January with a stage at the St. Moritz circuit in Switzerland, and at the end of the month, matches will be held at the Lillehammer circuit in Norway.
In Sigulda, there will also be a fight for the European championship titles in skeleton, bobsleigh for two crews and mono bobsleigh, but in the middle of the month the athletes will compete on the Altenberg track in Germany, and the season will end a month later with a stage on the Lake Placid track in the USA.
Before the start in Lake Placid in late February and early March, the World Championships will take place at the Winterberg circuit in Germany.
