In order to prepare for the next heating season and to detect possible damage in heating networks in time, which, if broken in winter, would not have access to hot water and heating, JSC “Rīgas Siltums” will conduct a hydraulic inspection of the heating networks on the right bank of the Daugava on Thursday, August 4.
Residents of Old Riga, the center of Riga, Ķengarag, Dārzciem, Dreiliņi, Pļavnieki, Purvciem, Mežciem, Teika, Jugla, Čiekurkalni, Sarkandaugava, Mežaparka, Grīziņkalni, Brasa, Moscow Forštate, Avotos, Rumbula, Škirotava, Skanste, Zaķusala and Pētersala – Andrejsala will not receive hot water.
Hydraulic testing is done within one day. Hot water is planned to be restored in the late evening of the same day, except for those places where damage will be detected, possible interruptions of hot water supply until they are repaired.

For the safety of the residents, so that hot heat carrier (greenish-colored water) does not leak into the environment in case of damage to the heating networks, it is cooled below +45 degrees before the hydraulic test, so the temperature of the hot water will gradually decrease already on Wednesday, August 3.
During the inspection, heating networks are objects of increased danger – the pressure of the heat carrier in them reaches 16 atmospheres.

Hydraulic tests are the most effective method to ensure the safety of heating networks, thus reducing the number of possible heating network defects during the heating season. During them, each section of the heat networks is tested with increased pressure. During hydraulic tests, the tightness of pipelines, fittings, connection flanges and compensators is controlled.
