From April 2 to 5, the “Verboom VI” exercise will take place at the Ādaži military training ground. During the training, the Latvian, Lithuanian and Estonian NATO extended presence battle group engineer units will improve mutual cooperation in the execution of common tasks.

The multinational combat engineer exercise will take place for the sixth time, where units will have the opportunity to share knowledge and better understand the capacity of allied forces. During the Verboom VI exercise, units will conduct a variety of engineering exercises and capability demonstrations to foster partnership, thereby strengthening NATO’s combat capabilities.

The multinational battle group in Latvia is led by Canada and consists of approximately 1,900 soldiers from Albania, the Czech Republic, Iceland, Italy, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia and Spain. The service duties of the represented unit on the territory of Latvia are carried out on a rotational basis and regularly participate in exercises together with the National Armed Forces.

Attention residents!

During the military exercises, there may be temporary road traffic disturbances on the public roads in the vicinity of the Ādaži military training ground.

The national armed forces call for an understanding approach to the ongoing military exercises in Latvia, which are aimed at strengthening the country’s national defense and NATO’s collective security.
