Uldis Volmārs is a Latvian volunteer soldier in Ukraine, who suffered severe leg vein damage when a cluster bomb exploded near the front last year. As a result of these injuries, his health has deteriorated – the soldier is now left without both legs. Each of us can support him with our contribution to the portal zidot.lv.
“Public support is needed as Uldi starts his new life – for living in a nursing home, a specialized sports wheelchair and other needs that would make life easier in the future,” Latvian Radio journalist Indra Sprance in Ukraine appealed to her fellow citizens.
Costs required for Uldis Volmārs: boarding house (partially paid by the municipality) – 400 euros per month or 4800 euros per year;
anti-sleep mattress – 200 euros;
specialized sports wheelchair – 4500 euros. In general, the amount needed for the first year of his new life is 9,500 euros. But there will be other years…
Acceptance of these donations on the portal was started on Wednesday, May 24. By Thursday noon, 18,000 euros had already been donated to support Ulda Vollmar. Association Ziedot.lv reminds that it does not deduct any commission or brokerage fee for donations – 100% of all donated money goes to the intended purpose.
