At the same time, during the meeting, the future development of the accelerator program will be discussed, its goals achieved during the last year, as well as its participants will have the opportunity to get to know Latvia’s science-intensive technology ecosystem by attending the science-intensive technology conference Deep Tech Atelier.

Latvia has been participating in the NATO DIANA program since June 2022, and its goal is to promote the development of dual applicability start-ups in NATO member states, promoting cooperation between innovators, researchers and end users.

The NATO DIANA program focuses on innovators who offer solutions in one of the new and transformative technologies, such as artificial intelligence, big data processing, quantum technology, autonomy, biotechnology, new materials and space industries.

It has already been reported that in March of this year, NATO DIANA announced that 23 accelerators and 182 testing centers will operate in 28 allied countries within the framework of the program, which significantly increases the ability to support dual-use start-ups from the entire Alliance so that they can develop new and transformative technologies.

It was also announced that the Latvian 5G test environment, which is located in the Ādaži military base, as well as the first accelerator from Latvia – “UniLab Defence” – joined the accelerator network of the program.
