Applications for participation in Daugavpils city festivities continue

From May 31 to June 2, Latvia’s second largest city invites you to celebrate its 749th birthday by enjoying bright concerts, new tastes and experiencing bright emotions. Until April 18, applications for participation in the City Festival Concerts and the Education City will continue.

We will celebrate the 749th birthday of Daugavpils for three days. From the afternoon of May 31 until the evening of June 2, the city will be resounding with concerts, the Family Amusement Park will invite you to embark on breathtaking adventures, outdoor cafes will spoil you with the flavors of the holidays, and the Holiday Market will offer souvenirs, home-made goodies and handicrafts.

For the first time in the history of Daugavpils city holidays, “Tūrisma iela” will operate. For two days – on May 31 and June 1, representatives of the tourism industry of the Baltic States will gather at Gimnazija Street, who will give the best advice and recommendations to plan a great vacation for different audiences. on June 1. In celebration of International Children’s Day, activities for children, young people and families will take place in Dubrovina Park. On the other hand, special musical surprises are expected on the evenings of May 31 and June 1, when the special guests of the festival will take to the big festive stage in Vienības Square.

Sports activities are also thought about during the holidays. On June 1, at Esplanade Park, the little champions will be able to test their athletic prowess at the “Meet Athletics” event. On the other hand, on June 2, the Youth and Sports Festival will take place at the Daugavpils Olympic Center with competitions and other sports activities, which will kick off this summer’s cycle of sports activities in the city. This year, during the City Holidays, on June 1 from From 12.00 to 16.00, the Education City will operate on the section of Riga Street from Cietokšņa Street to Mihoelsa Street. The organizers of the celebration invite secondary schools, vocational schools, higher education institutions, interest education institutions, learning centers and other educational institutions to apply for participation in the Educational Campus and to tell the residents and guests of Daugavpils about themselves.
