The technology company SIA “Tet” has increased the internet speed for customers who use DSL technology, representatives of “Tet” informed the agency LETA.

Although the share of “Tet” Internet customers using DSL technology is small, the company is looking for solutions to increase its speed even if the Internet signal is conducted via copper wires.

In the second half of this year, an opportunity was found to increase the Internet speed for some DSL customers. These Internet users currently have access to 30 Mbit/s instead of the maximum Internet speed of 10 megabits per second (Mbit/s). This increase in Internet speed occurs automatically – the type of Internet service connection and its payment are not changed.

On the other hand, for some customers, the Internet speed is increased to 100 Mbit/s. This means that due to improvements, it is possible to change the type of service to “Pro” Internet connection. These customers are informed about the next steps individually, according to “Tet”.

It has already been announced that the turnover of the “Tet” concern in 2022 was 326.656 million euros, which is 29% more than the year before, but the profit of the concern decreased by 10.7% and was 25.779 million euros. At the same time, the turnover of “Tet” itself in 2022 was 231.436 million euros, which is 15.4% more than in 2021, but the company’s profit decreased by 10.2% and was 24.056 million euros.

“Tet” is owned by the state SIA “Publisko aktivi gemanatājs “Possessor”” (51%) and by “Tilts Communications”, a subsidiary of the telecommunications company “Telia Company” (49%).
