In the first three months of 2023, 3,348 terawatt hours (TWh) of natural gas were consumed in Latvia, while 3,647 TWh of natural gas were consumed in the corresponding period last year.
Among them, the amount of natural gas consumed in Latvia in March this year has increased compared to March 2022.
In March this year, 1.03 TWh of natural gas was consumed in Latvia, which is 1.5% more than last year’s corresponding month, when 1.015 TWh of natural gas was consumed in Latvia.
It has already been announced that the amount of natural gas consumed in Latvia decreased by 30.3% last year and amounted to a total of 8,887 TWh.
Last year, the most natural gas was consumed in December – 1.6 TWh, which is a decrease of 16.3% compared to the corresponding month of 2021.
Followed by January, when 1,535 TWh of natural gas was consumed in Latvia, which is 20.8% less than in the corresponding period of 2021, November, when compared to the corresponding month of 2021, natural gas consumption in Latvia decreased by 5.4%, amounting to 1,124 TWh, February, when natural gas consumption was 1,097 TWh, which is 42.3% less, and March, when 1,015 TWh was consumed in Latvia, which is a decrease of 30%.
