“From time to time, the songs of other artists sneak into the work of the group “Crazy Dolls”. These are songs that for some reason we associate with something and have become special or simply like. At one time, in our own interpretation, we created “Zzelteno Postnieku” “Fight of the Giants”, “Varavīksne”, “Kolosāli”, “Nejautāta”, “60tie” and some songs of the band “Jumprava”. This time the memories of the nineties were stirred up by the song “Mazinė nežinė” by the group “Juku Jukām”. During a group rehearsal, we decided to recreate this song with self-composed verses and new lyrics. This is like the second episode of the song “Mazinė Nežinė” and that’s why we named it “Truly Nežinė”, the members of the group “Crazy Dolls” reveal.
“I would never have thought that a story created in an hour in the crossfire of my young life at BIZ would accompany me for so long in the years to come. If you sat down with a guitar and set out to create a song that could become a hit that spans the decades, nothing would have happened! Glad it’s still sung at weddings (for some as a first night song), played at parties, on the radio, even performed by a choir and the like. The desire of the “Crazy Dolls” group to find a new vision for the song is only to be welcomed,” says Māris Ozoliņš, the author of the nineties hit “Mazinė nežinė”.
Currently, the group “Crazy Dolls” is working on several other well-known, but somewhat forgotten songs. As usual, the group tries to look at all of them from a different (Crazy Dolls 100% major) point of view. All this should result in an album. But after that? The Crazy Dolls will then return to their original music.
The group “Crazy Dolls” was formed in the mid-nineties, and Midis and Mārtiņš Poliakovskis are responsible for its repertoire. The album “No visa galva griäskas” has been awarded the “Zelta mikrofons 2019” award for music recordings of the year.
