“The first sketch of Ataust rīts was created a long time ago, it was inspired by receiving a happy message that made me stop in the middle of the street and record the song’s chorus in my phone voice notes. This song has been made and processed for a long time, for a while I thought that I would not perform it myself, but would offer it to other artists. I am glad that it welcomed its best combination – in the cooperation between me and “Sudden Lights”, says Aminata.
The authors of the song are Aminata Savadogo and Andrejs Reinis Zitmanis, it was produced by JJ Lush.
“One day we received a message from Aminata – she has an idea for a song and wants to record it with us. Aminata is a great singer whose music has been with us for a long time, so we were very happy about this invitation. We created the lyrics of the song together, and we seemed to have a good musical chemistry right away, although there were parts of the song that we polished long and thoroughly. The melody of the song was mysterious, intimate and at the same time full of tension – the text was like that too. About winter and spring in us, in our relationships and about finding something lost,” says “Sudden Lights”.
“I am pleased with the different moods that we brought to the song “Ataust rīts” together with “Sudden Lights”, and the process of creating the song also pleasantly surprised me – for the first time I worked in the studio on the arrangement of the song with a group of people, and not, as usual, only with a producer. I appreciate the professionalism and talent of the guys, and I believe that we found a way to perfectly complement each other,” Aminata continues.
After a productive previous year, the release of an album and an active concert life, Aminata is currently continuing her work on creating new music and admits that she has accumulated many things that she wants to talk about with her listeners.
