In a conversation with “Private Life”, Jillinger admits that he did not influence the content of his wife’s books in any way. “But I created an environment suitable for writing. In the summer, when we went on long trips by car, I always served her breakfast in the morning, a glass of wine in the afternoon, and dinner in the evening. In that sense, I help her, but I don’t interfere in the creative process,” he emphasizes.

Grenzberg reveals that the book was written during three trips – to Spain, Greece and Italy. Whenever a suite reservation was made, Gillinger allegedly showed photos of the rooms and said: “See where you’ll have a desk to write at.”

The writer reveals how the title of the book came about. “We were sitting in a tavern in Greece and Gillis asked me what the book would be called. I said I wouldn’t say, but I found out that the main character is Maria. He immediately said: deja vu. That’s how the name of the book came about,” the writer recalls.

Inga Grenzberga is a writer, book reader and ambassador. Her debut novel The Sixth Wife became a sales sensation immediately after its release. It was published and received recognition outside Latvia as well.
